Walter Graham has 34 years’ experience working in the aging network, serving as Senior Services Superintendent, City of Abilene and responsible for all Senior programs including 5 Senior Centers, transportation, I&R, and outreach. He was Consultant for the West Central Texas Area Agency on Aging and helped set up Senior programs in 19 counties. Upon retiring from the City of Abilene, he served as Community Relations Specialist, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and Dietary Manager, Wisteria Place of Abilene.
Walter serves as President, TSHL Foundation; President, Texas Senor Advocacy Coalition; Past President, Texas Dietary Managers Association, Past President, Texas Assn. Nutrition and Aging Programs, Past President, Texas Assn. Aging Programs, Six times Master of Ceremonies, Senior Day at the Capitol; also, served as Trade Show Chair for the Texas Conference on Aging for 6 years and chaired the Conference 3 times; Appointed by Governor Ann Richards and Congressman Charlie Stenholm to the 1995 White House Conference on Aging.
He has achieved the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster on 4 occasions and received the Impact Award, National Private Duty Association, Texas Chapter. In February 2015, he received the 2015 Texas Silver Star Award from the TSHL Foundation.
Walter is married to Burnell. They have one daughter, Cecilia.
