Larry is a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Speech, in Evanston, IL, with a Master's Degree in Economics & Latin American Studies, from La Universidad de las Americas in Mexico City.

His professional background includes:
• 21 years as Human Resources manager with AT&T/Southwestern Bell Telephone. He is accredited as a Personnel Specialist by the National Personnel Accreditation Institute.
• 22 years as a radio and television broadcaster in the U.S. and Mexico; and
• 37 years as an international motivational speaker and workshop presenter. He has presented to groups in Mexico, Japan and the U.S.

He has been an advocate and champion for persons with disabilities all of his life, serving in leadership roles with various organizations at the local, state and national level including: the President’s Committee on Employment of the Handicapped, the American Council of the Blind, the American Association of Deaf/Blind, the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities, the Texas Commission for the Blind, the Bexar County Technical Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities, the San Antonio Independent Living Services and the Academy of Learning in Retirement.

He has been awarded The Texas Governor’s Committee’s Barbara Jordan Award for "Excellence in the Communication of the Reality of Disabled People" and the American Council of the Blind of Texas’ 2014 Who’s Who Among Blind Texans.

Larry is the author of four books, father of six children and grand-father of 21.
